S

he is an actress, comedian, singer and
author. She has been nominated for a
Grammy Award, played opposite Robert
DeNiro in Martin Scorsese's King of Comedy,
had a recurring role on "Roseanne" and starred in
her own HBO special.
And now, Flint, Mich., native Sandra Bernhard,
who is known for her provocative, profane and
brutally honest commentaries on celebrity icons, is
a hot Broadway star. After a limited Off-Broadway
run last year, her critically acclaimed one-woman
show IM Still Here ... Damn It! is the talk of the
town. And for Bernhard fans, this is no surprise.
After all, she has become a must-see for a
diverse crowd — not just the 20- and 30-year-
old set usually attracted to her unconventional
style.
"It's a pretty amazing experience to have
people pay to see you and support you
enough to be on Broadway," says Bernhard,
whose show is playing at the Booth Theater
through Feb. 28.
