hen Rabbi David Nelson, of
Congregation Beth Shalom,
appeared at the recent
Jewish Book Fair, he didn't
receive as much publicity as the celebrity
authors like Diane Von Furstenberg and
Wendy Wasserstein, but he was a big hit
amona the toddler crowd.

b Nelson led a story hour for chil-
dren, where he enchanted toddlers with
the readings of The Chanukah Guest, In
God's Name and a Chassidic tale.
About a dozen children with parents
and/or grandparents attended the event at
the Jewish Community Center Jimmy
Prentis Morris Building in Oak Park.
"The kids were very attentive," said
Rabbi Nelson. "They enjoyed the fact that
the adults sat right down on the floor with
them. It was quality time."
