Youth Awards For
High School Seniors

The National Council of Jewish
Women, Greater Detroit Section, will
continue a tradition of honoring
exceptional high school seniors though
its Jewish Youth Awards.
This program seeks to recognize
students who demonstrate leadership
in school and in the Jewish communi-
All eligible high school seniors may
apply.
The finalists will be honored at an
awards ceremony on Sunday, April 11.
One student of exceptional achieve-.
merit will receive a monetary award of
S1,000.
To qualify:
• Be a high school senior with at
least a 3.0 cumulative grade point
average
• Have a formal Jewish education
bar/bat mitzvah, consecration,

confirmation or attend Monday night
school)
• Be actively involved in the Jewish
community
• Submit a signed letter of recom-
mendation from a person in authority
from a sponsoring organization, syna-
gogue or temple
• Submit a one-page typed essay on
"How Does Judaism Affect Who I
Am?"
• Complete the application form
• Submit eight copies of all materi-
als to the NCJW office, 26400 Lahser
Road, Suite 100, Southfield, MI
48034, no later than Jan. 22
• Be interviewed by a panel of
judges on either Feb. 28 or March 7
• Be able to attend the awards cere-
mony on April 11
