Daily specials include numerous
recipes upon which Lee has either
embellished or concocted.
This is true also of Baci's regular
menu ... with Lee's veal fillet ... ten-
derloin medallions sauteed with
wild mushrooms, shallots, Madeira
wine and demi-glaze sauce ... Like-
wise the Tuscan-style pompano
grilled with garlic, herbs, olive oil
and lemon.
Highchairs are available for chil-
dren ... and vegetarian dishes are
made and suggested for those who
request it.
Soon, Lee will be overall executive
chef of this and two more Baci opera-
tions ... Opening in Royal Oak will be
Sangria, serving Spanish tapas ... And
in Clarkston will be a second Baci
Italian Chophouse.
In Pontiac, Baci is open Tuesday,
Wednesday and Thursday, 5 to 11
p.m.; Friday and Saturday the kitchen
is open until midnight and the bar
until 2 a.m.; Sunday, 5 to 10 p.m.
With its new look, dancing, enter-
tainment, theatrical presentations and
an exceptionally good experience in
dining, Baci Italian Chop House is
receiving high acclaim.
A DRUM BEATS again for Ben
Glenner to be inducted into the
Michigan Jewish Sports Hall of Fame
... Letter comes from former Detroiter
Andy Solomon, living in Adventure,
- Calif, about Ben ... They went to
Northern High together years back
when Ben played baseball, basketball
and football, and had his name put
on a plaque donated by the University
of Michigan ... He also was on
"Cincy" Sachs' Auto Club basketball
team with Bobbie Roth in the Detroit
Basketball League.
Ben lives on the West Coast and is
in the Southern California Handball
Association Hall of Fame.
GOOD WAITRESS Dept. ... Tra-
cie Lebold Alpert ... at Giovanni's
Restaurant on Oakwood Boulevard,
east of Schaefer ... A very personable
and highly efficient asked-for server
whose ability to remember all orders
without writing them down is
uncanny ... And she's been giving
back massages, too, for 13 years at
Giovanni's.
The big family-owned favorite,
headed by Frances Trunt, has been a
first-choice restaurant over the 20
years she has owned it ... serving excel-
lent Italian dishes in a well-paced style
of casual gourmet dining.
