1998 BLOW OUT SALE

She creates calligraphy in Hebrew and
English and produces limited-edition
books on Jewish themes.
Dr. Bolkosky has brought a deeper
understanding of the Holocaust to
thousands of schoolchildren in the
US and Canada, thanks to his pro-
gram, "A Holocaust Curriculum: Life
Unworthy of Life." Created with two
colleagues, the 18-lesson program is
for high school students.
Artistic director of the Jewish
-ensemble Theatre, Mrs. Orbach has
brought many plays on Jewish themes
or by Jewish playwrights to Detroit
audiences. At the JET, she frequently
acts or directs productions.
The Franklin Archive documents
Jewish communal life since the
founding of Temple Beth El in 1850.
It includes histories of Jewish young
men who fought in the Civil War and
later conflicts, War bond drives and
the formation of a soldier's Aid
Society in 1863.
Award recipients were nominated
by members of the community and
judged by a committee of their peers.

Bereavement
Support Group

A bereavement support group contin-
ues to meet 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, at
Congregation Shaarey Zedek B'nai
Israel. The group is sponsored jointly
by Congregation Shaarey Zedek and
Clover Hill Park Cemetery.
There is no charge for the_sessions
but registration is requested. To regis-

New Faces
At IFS

Jewish Family Service appointed two
key positions with the hiring of
Executive Director Norman R. Keane
and Chief Financial Officer Robert
Blumenfeld.
Keane brings experience as execu-
tive director of Jewish Family and
Children's agencies in Pittsburgh and
Arizona. Blumenfeld has held CFO
positions with Liebherr America-
Saline and with Wolverine Human
Services of Detroit.
Jewish Family Service, a licensed
outpatient clinic with offices in
Southfield and West Bloomfield, pro-
vides social and mental health services
to adults, children and families.
