Wendi Dines became a bat mitzvah at
Congregation B'nai David on Satur-
day, Oct. 31. She is the daughter of
Resa and Philip Dines. Proud grand-
parents are Esther Weingarten and
Harry and Esther
Dines. Her great-
grandparents are
Sarah Eisenstadt and
David Novak. Wendi
) is also the grand-
daughter of the late
David S. Wein-
garten.
Wendi is an
honor student at Warner Middle
School in Farmington Hills. She
enjoys dance, music, drawing and
many recreational sports.

L 'Steven Frederick Baum of Franklin

will become a bar mitzvah on Satur-
day, Nov. 21, at Congregation Beth
Shalom. Rabbi Nelson and Cantor
Greenbaum will lead services.
Participating in the ceremony will
be Steven's parents, Denise and Elliott,
as well as his sister
Natalie, brothers
Aaron and David,
and his aunt Elissa
Berg,, along with
cousins Francesca,
Joshua, and Zach.
Steven is the grand-
son of Leah Baum,
the late Fred Baum
and Ray Davis.

A party will be held at Beth
Shalom. Steven is a student at Hillel
Day School in Farmington Hills. He
enjoys reading, computers and bicy-
cling. He volunteers. his time at Yad
Ezra as well as the Children's Circle.

Chad Michael Mahakian will be
called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah
on Saturday, Nov. 21, at Temple
Shir Shalom. Chad is the son of Sue
and Dicron Mahakian and the
brother of Jason. The proud grand-
parents are Onny
and Sanford Rope
of Scottsdale, Ariz.,
and Gladow and
John Mahakian of
West Bloomfield.
Chad attends
Walled Lake Middle
School in Walled
Lake. He enjoys
basketball, roller-blade hockey, going
on vacations and spending time with
his family and friends. As part of his
mitzvah project, Chad volunteered
at Yad Ezra.
