JPM Seniors
Stay Active

The Jimmy Prentis Morris Jewish
Community Center will present the
annual Health Fair, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Monday, Nov. 16.
The Bel Canto Choral Society's
Concert, sponsored by the Boaz Siegel
Culture Fund, will be 1 p.m. Thursday,
Nov. 19. Tickets are $2.25 for lunch,
which will be served at noon, and must
be purchased at the JPM front desk by
Nov. 13. Tickets are not needed for the
concert which is free of charge.
The Writers' Corner will meet 10
a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, facilitated by
Wayne State University professor
Norma Goldman.
Vivian Stollman and the Senior
Choir accompanied by Sonny
Lipenholtz will hold a sing-a-long in a
European coffee house atmosphere at
12:45 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23. This
program is for Holocaust survivors,
families and friends. Donations are
accepted.
"Fabs" Kaldobsky at 1 p.m.,
Tuesday, Nov. 24, will discuss world-
famous composers and their music.
There is no charge.
Temple Kol Ami Rabbi Ernst
Conrad will lead a Shabbat lecture
and discussion every Friday morning
at 10 a.m. There is no charge.
JPM, in collaboration with AARP,
will offer "55 Alive/Mature Driving
Program" from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. on
Tuesday, Dec. 1, and Wednesday, Dec.
2. This refresher course is designed to
help improve the driving skills of older
adults and prevent traffic accidents.

There are two sessions and students •
must attend both sessions to receive a
certificate. There is an $8 fee to take
the course. Reservations can be made
at the JPM reception desk; call (248)
967-4030 for information.

Art Glass Viewed
At The DIA

Art glass will be the focus of the
Campaign Quarter Century Club
when it visits the Detroit Institute of
Arts on Sunday, Dec. 13.
Leaving by bus from the Max M.
Fisher Federation Building at 12:30
p.m., the group will tour two exhibits,
"A Passion for Glass: the Aviva and
Jack A. Robinson Studio Glass
Collection" and Guardian Industries'
Judaica glass collection, "Ancient Glass
from the Holy Land."
Fifty-seven artists are represented in
the Robinson collection, featuring
objects from paperweight size to large
sculptural works. Objects in the exhi-
bition date from 1971 to 1995. The
Guardian collection includes 200
pieces of Roman glass dating between
1500 BCE and 7 CE. Among the
items are jars, bowls, cosmetic flasks,
amulets and jewelry.
The outing is open only to
Campaign Quarter Century Club
members.
There is a charge of $15 per person
for the event. Refreshments will be
served. A chartered bus will take club
members to the DIA.
