everly Price was a carnivore.
Now, when she admits her meat-eat-
ing past life, she seems like a guest on a
salacious talk show. She speaks of eat-
ing broiled lamb chOps and juicy brisket as if she
were a repentant ax murderer.
"In my parent's house, dinner used to be lamb
chops, French fries, some overcooked vegetable,"
said the nutritionist and author of Nutrition
Secrets for Optimal Health. "You know, anything
that wasn't healthy." In fact, she continued her
eating pattern through college and into her early
professional career until a fellow dietitian began
frequently interrupting Price's meat lunches to
present her with pictures of animal carcasses.
"The pictures were not the most appetizing
things to look at," said Price, who now has a mas-
