Amy Liani Berke will become a bat
mitzvah on Saturday, Nov. 7, at Tem-
ple Israel. She is the daughter of Laura
and Marc Berke, sister of Aaron and
Kimberly and grandchild of Benjamin
Berke. She is also the granddaughter
of the late Idalene
Berke and the late
Erna and Joe Fox.

where she plays
saxophone in the
student band,
Amy plays tennis,
basketball and softball. She participat-
ed in the Maccabi Games. Mitzvah
projects included volunteering at Fleis-
chman Residence and Temple Israel's
media center.
Matthew Ian Milstein will be called
to the Torah as a bar mitzvah at Tem-
ple Israel on Saturday, Nov. 7. He is
the son of Susan and Lester Milstein
and brother of Meredith. He is also
the grandchild of the late Anita and
Joseph Milstein and the late Ina and
Stanley Shaw.

Matthew is a
member of the

country conference
championship
team and a track
and field runner.
He plays soccer on
a travel team and
enjoys most sports.
Other interests include reading, weight
training and music. As part of his mitz-
vah projects, he spent time with senior
citizens.
Jason Scott Simons will celebrate his
bar mitzvah at Havdalah services on
Saturday, Nov. 7, at Temple Israel. He

Simons and Ruth Stern.. He is also the
grandson of the
late Kenneth

Erica Faye Linden will become a bat
mitzvah on Saturday Nov. 7, at Tem-
ple Emanu-El.
Erica is the daughter of Gail and
Stephen Linden and sister of Adam.
She is the granddaughter of the late
Lillian and Sam
Solomon. Proud
grandparents are
Janice and Louis
Linden.
For Erica's
mitzvah project,
she worked at Yad
Ezra. She attends
Norup Middle
School in Oak
Park. She enjoys art, jewelry making,
computers and horseback riding.
The Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit offers a $2,000 subsidy to
residents of Oakland, Macomb and Wayne counties who want to participate
in high school academic programs in Israel.

7:45 p.m. at the Max M. Fisher Federation Building, 6735 Telegraph,

Dean Michael Perach, son of Anita
and Asi Perach, will be called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah at Adat
Shalom Synagogue on Saturday,
Nov. 7.
Participating in the ceremony will
be Dean's brother
Daniel and sisters
Nicole and Natal-
ie. They are the
grandchildren of
the late Yetta and
Nathan Rosenberg
of Chicago, Ill.,
and Ruth and
Naftally Perach of
Haifa, Israel.
Dean is a seventh grade student at
Warner Middle School in Farmington
Hills, where he also plays the tuba in
the school band.- He is active in
aggressive skating, and loves snow-
boarding, boxing, paint ball, comput-
ers and video games.
