The veil for the bedecken (where
he groom lifts the extra veil to
ake sure it is the right bride before
he wedding ceremony) is not
ncluded in a bridal package. Krug
nd Popp are adamant that a reli-
us bride cannot purchase a
edecken veil from Peggendott
riginals — all are on loan, only.
The reason? Oftentimes, religious
ewish brides pass bedecken veils from
amily to family, without concern for
hatching the lace to the bridal gown
r headpiece, they say.
"We don't want to be responsible
passing around, and looking yucky,
n a headpiece [that does not
arch]," says Krug. "We design them.

It's not uncommon for Orthodox

ive; we're not," insists Popp. "We
end over backwards. If there's really a

Their business is half comprised of
edding commissions, the rest in every-
