Studies Miracles

Adult learners are invited to study
classical Jewish texts on the subject
of "Miracles" at a hevruta-style study
session. It will be held 8-9 p.m. on
Wednesday, Nov. 11, in the Beit
Midrash of the Laker Complex at
Congregation Shaarey Zedek, 2075
Walnut Lake Road, West
Bloomfield.
The session will be led by Rabbi
Joseph Krakoff. There is no charge,
and pre-registration is not required. A
total of seven Beit Midrash sessions,
each focusing on a different topic, will
be offered on Wednesday nights
through Dec. 16.

Rabbi Alper

As part of Temple Emanu-El's spe-
cial "Year of Rededication" events,
the congregation will bring back
Rabbi Bob Alper and his stand-up
comedy program 7 p.m. Sunday,
Nov. 22.
Rabbi Alper bills himself as "the
world's only practicing clergyman
doing stand-up comedy . . . inten-
tionally."
The program is open to the com-
munity. Tickets can be purchased
from the Temple Emanu-El office at
$15 for members, $18 for non-mem-
