Janice Charach Epstein Muse - um/Gallery

October 29 - December 31, 1998

For close to two decades French photographer Frederic Brenner has produced
a stunning visual testimony of the Jewish people throughout their diaspora
from Yemen to Central Asia, from India to Ethiopia, and from Rome to Buenos
Aires. This exhibition will display his recently completed chronicle of the
Jewish people in America and the manner in which they represent themselves.
Brenner's brilliant narrative of American Jewish identity has taken him
through thirty-two states and into the most diverse and contrasting
communities.

Ron Agam, son of Israeli artist Yaacov Agam, translated his upbringing in an
artistic environment to the medium of his choice, photography. Growing up
with camera in hand, he has illustrated Jewish daily life, rituals and religious
moments.

The gallery is located in the Jewish Community Center
of Metropolitan Detroit, D. Dan and Betty Kahn Building.
Gallery hours are Sunday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Monday-Wednesday 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m.
