A Peek At What's Inside
Abundance of authors.
page 22
From books and authors, to Middle East peace talks to
federal, state and county elections .. . we span a range
of topics this week.
Like a lighthouse in the fog for weary seafarers, the
Jewish Book Fair has been a beacon for generations of
bookworms, gift buyers and lecture goers.
To help set the stage for the 47th annual Jewish
Book Fair Nov. 7-16 at the Kahn and Jimmy Prentis
Morris Jewish Community Centers, we've organized
this edition around Book Fair week, which traditionally
kicks off the Chanukah shopping season in metro
Detroit. You'll find Book Fair stories in This Week,
Entertainment, AppleTree, The Scene and Living Well.
The scope of our coverage underscores how Book Fair
offerings reach out to every age level.
In The World, we offer an in-depth look at the
peace initiatives forged between Israeli Prime Minister
Binyamin Netanyahu and Palestinian leader Yassir
Arafat at Wye Plantation in Maryland. Coverage
includes an international perspective as well as local
reaction.
Also in This Week, we wrap up preview coverage of
the Nov. 3 general election by spotlighting candidates
for the 11th and 12th Congressional Districts and
selected state legislative seats.
Shabbat Shalom.
