There are three levels of free classes — basic, intermedi- ate and advanced — as well as weekly Torah portion commen- taries and explanations. There is an archive of past commentaries. The basic level, according to the site's disclaimer, is designed for potential students with no Judaic background, and offers introductory classes. The high- er levels offer considerably more options, including life cycle events, Torah forum and classes on Jewish holidays, including a calendar of holiday dates for the next nine years. The site offers other services, including candle-lighting times for several cities across the conti- nent (FYI, candle lighting in Detroit on Nov. 6 is 5:02 p.m.). There is a guest book, and an updated list of cholim (the sick) that will be mailed to subscribers weekly so subscribers can pray for them. The question-and-answer link allows subscribers to send ques- tions to staff members at Project Genesis for either answers or refer- rals to area rabbis. As of December 1997, the site had been getting nearly two mil- lion hits per month. It has received critical acclaim as well, winning the Best of the Jewish Web award from MIS Press and the Links2go.com award in Judaism. It was named one of the 500 best Web sites by "Home PC Magazine" and a Point Survey top 5 percent award. Officially, the site is not affili-
