Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Ashley Melanie Byer will be called

to the Torah as a bat mitzvah at
Adat Shalom Synagogue on Satur-
day, Oct. 17. Ashley
is the daughter of
Rhonda and Jerry
Byer and sister of
Erica. Proud grand-
parents are Sedell
Kramer and Al
Byer. She is also the
granddaughter of
the late Al Kramer
and the late Jean Byer.
Ashley is a student at Hillel Day
School in Farmington Hills. Ashley
enjoys gymnastics, dance, basketball,
going to the movies and being with
friends.
Ashley's mitzvot included assisting
with JARC and Yad Ezra.

the ceremony will
be his parents, Den-
nis and Karen
Boren, and brother
Michael. Josh is the
grandson of
Bernard and Harriet
Boren, Manfred and
Ruth Lehman and
the late Rose
Lehman.
Josh is an honor student at
Orchard Lake Middle School in
West Bloomfield. He plays premier
soccer on the Farmington Fury in
the Little Caesars League and was on
the Maccabi soccer team this sum-
mer. His other interests include in-
line skating, other sports and com-
puters. Josh won the West Bloom-
field Optimist Club Oratorical Con-
test this year and placed as a finalist
in the regional competition.
His mitzvah projects included
raising money for the Arthritis
Foundation by participating in a 5K
run and working at Yad Ezra.

enjoys computer, basketball and
music.
Amanda's mitzvah projects includ-
ed helping in the classrooms and
office at Temple Shir Shalom, orga-
nizing baskets of food for the less
fortunate and donating to Yad Ezra.

He enjoys soccer, basketball, snow-
