Lee Reitelman will observe his bar
mitzvah at the Temple Beth El Hav-
dalah service on Saturday, Oct. 10.
The Bloomfield
Hills Cranbrook
Kingswood Middle
School eighth grader
is the son of Sandi
and. Dr. Claude
Reitelman, grandson
of Phyllis and Mor-
ris Gerber of Liberty,
N.Y., and great-
grandson of Minnie Kaplan of Marina
del Rey, Calif. He also is the grandson
of the late Dorothy and Leo Reitel-
man of Belle Harbor, N.Y.
Lee has derived great satisfaction in
studying for his bar mitzvah, and
looks forward to sharing the special
occasion with family and friends. In
preparing for his bar mitzvah, he has
found his volunteer work especially
important, including working for
Meals On Wheels and entertaining at
nursing homes.
In honor of his bar mitzvah, Lee
intends to make a donation to the
National Alliance for the Mentally Ill.
Special interests include playing
guitar and trumpet, singing, and play-
ing golf and hockey.

Eric Rosenbaum will celebrate his bar
mitzvah on Sunday, Oct. 11, at Con-
gregation Beth Shalom. Proud parents
are Lisa and Richard
Rosenbaum. Eric
will be joined by his
brother Jared, grand-
parents Kenneth and
Linda Lenchner, as
well as many friends
and relatives from
around the globe.
Eric will lead the ser-
vice as well as read from the Torah. He
will speak about the sacrifices the Jews
made and their travels through the
desert, as read in the Torah portion
this Shabbat. Eric will discuss the
commitments he will make on his
journey as he becomes a bar mitzvah
and an active member of the Jewish
community.
Eric is a seventh grade student at
Hillel Day School of Metropolitan
Detroit in Farmington Hills. He is
involved in the Dor LDor project,
devoting time to senior citizens: Eric's
hobbies include computers, skiing and
anything automotive.

Joseph Meyer Marks will become a
bar mitzvah on Saturday, Oct. 10, at

Congregation Beth
Shalom. He is the
son of Ann and
David Marks and
the brother of
Mindy. Proud grand-
parents are Arthur
and Frances Kohn.
He is also the grand-
son of the late George and Lillian
Marks.
Joseph Meyer attends Warner Mid-
dle School in Farmington Hills, where
he is on the football team and in the
band. He is a Boy Scout and also
enjoys computers and spending time
with his friends.
His mitzvah project was volunteer-
ing at JARC.

Mark Benjamin Frenkel celebrated his
bar mitzvah on Oct. 2, at Temple
Beth El.
His parents are
Dale and Patty
Frenkel. His sister is
Meredith and his
brothers are William
and Warren. His
grandparents are
Barbara and Marvin
Frenkel, Barbara Pol-
lack and Leo Pollack.
Mark is an eighth grader at Detroit
Country Day Middle School in Bever-
ly Hills. He is an avid computer user
and was written up in MacAddict as
the youngest beta tester working for
Apple computer.
His mitzvah projects included
working with Safety Town and at Yad
Ezra.

Jordan Berman, son of Susie and
David Berman, will be called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday,
Oct. 10, at Adat
Shalom Synagogue.
Sharing in his cel-
ebration will be his
brothers Evan and
Jared. The boys are
grandsons of Shirley
Berman and the late
Robert Berman, and
Edythe Levine and
the late Max Levine.
Jordan is an honor student at
Warner Middle School in Farmington
Hills and is in the accelerated class in
the Beth Achim religious school at
Adat Shalom. He attends Camp.
Ramah in Canada and is a member of
the performing group Earth Angels.
