ith pots of coffee brew-
ing, a kitchen table filled
with homemade food
fuels a lively political dis-
cussion on a recent Saturday in the liv-
ing room of a two-story Huntington
Woods home.
Dorothy Rood, 81, a retired Detroit
schoolteacher and social worker, tries to
keep some semblance of order, but
when a group of 20 feisty, opinionated
women meet in the same room,
Robert's Rules of Order stays unopened
on the shelf.
"I have my hands full," Rood said.
This isn't your ordinary group of
grandmothers.
