His favorite memories of the final victory at Washington include "the charter flight with all the players and their families" and "Mickey and I had the Stanley Cup sitting between us on the way home." "I just made sure when I was up there I took in every moment possible because people say you get spoiled when you come in here the first year and you win a Stanley Cup. But you don't take it for granted, either." Can the Wings win a Stanley Cup three-peat this season? "Getting [defenseman] Uwe Krupp was a huge addition — no pun intended, the guy's 6-6 — but I can see us winning it again." The Toronto native enjoys living in West Bloomfield. "It's pretty up here and you don't get the big-city feeling, which is nice." His only complaint? "The one-lane roads everywhere and the traffic congestion drives me crazy." But after a year in town he and Lisa have made plenty of friends. "I go on the road and I have no problem because she knows everybody," he said. "For the [Jewish] holidays, spending it with people here, we don't even have to go home to Toronto; we've been invited everywhere." Broadcasting is a volatile business, but Daniels hopes to remain with the Wings for many years.
