HOROWITZ, 82, of Southfield and Delray Beach, Fla., died Sept. 20. In the 1950s, Mr. Horowitz was a founder and the first president of the Evergreen Jewish Congregation in northwest Detroit. He was a member of Congregation B'nai Moshe in Oak Park and a member of its board of directors. Mr. Horowitz was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Corps of Engineers. After the war, he owned an appliance repair busi- ness; later, he worked as a master electrician at Chrysler Corporation. He left that occupation to pursue a sales career in the electrical supply business. In 1959, he founded Allen . Electric Supply Co. He is survived by his wife, Doris B. Horowitz; children, Leonard and Cheryl Horowitz of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Norman and Robert Tomasik Horowitz of Southfield, Jerry and Karen Horowitz of Northville, Cindy and Phil Wolf of West Bloomfield; brothers and sis- ters-in-law, Max and Beatrice Horowitz of Southfield, Larry and Phyllis Horowitz of Oak Park; sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Mur- ray Liberman of Detroit; grandchil- dren, Naomi, Katie, Jenny, Justin, Jason, Jessica, Shoshana, Zissi. She attended Farragut School and Eastern High School in Bay City. She,and her husband Morris cofounded Valley Oxygen Co. She was a member of Temple Israel and its sisterhood, Hadassah, American Red Cross, American Contract Bridge League and the Bay Medical Center Auxiliary. She was a Bay Medical Center and Veterans Administration Hospital volunteer.
