ZOA Supports
Strong Israel

T

he Zionist
Organization of
America Metro
Detroit Chapter
supports a strong Israel as a
sanctuary for Jews from
around the world.
The ZOA, under the lead-
ership of Morton Klein,
national president, lobbies the
U.S. Congress on Israel's
behalf It will have local and
national programs devoted to
Israeli politics and history and
dedicated to the education of
the public at large. ZOA will
continue to counter misinfor-
mation frequently presented in
the media.

ZOA funds
many Israel
programs.

The Metro Detroit Chapter
has formed a younger group,
Viewpoint, age 25-45, that is
involved with both social and
political causes.
The ZOA remains the pri-
mary sponsor of Masada stu-
dent scholarship awards for
summer tours and annual
study programs in Israel. It
also supports Kfar Silver, a
500-acre liberal arts and voca-
tional high school in
Ashkelon, Israel. The school is
primarily involved with the
education of recent immi-
grants and Israeli children
from disturbed homes.
Its major fundraiser, and
an annual highlight of the
Detroit Jewish community's
social calendar, is the Metro
Detroit Chapter's yearly
Balfour Celebration every
fall.
Prime Minister Netanyahu
refers to the ZOA as the
strongest pro-Israel group in
the United States. The Metro
Detroit Chapter plans to live
up to that reputation.

Detroit ZOA, (248) 569-
