IF YOU'RE like most people, when you think of
cancer you think the worst. But the fact is, more and
more people are surviving cancer each year. And at the
Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, we expect the
survival rate to increase even faster here in Michigan. After
all, we are one of the leading cancer centers in the country.
Thanks to a unique partnership with The Detroit
Medical Center (DMC) and Wayne State University, the
Karmanos Cancer Institute (which includes the former
Michigan Cancer Foundation) has nearly 300 physicians,
researchers and scientists devoted to finding
a cure. The result of this intense effort is
clearly evident in the care provided
through Harper Hospital and the rest of the DMC.
Because for many, our specialized care provides something
once unheard of: a second chance.
In short, there's every reason to believe we've finally
