"Elul—A Time to Prepare," the com-
munity-wide adult study series spon-
sored by Eilu Eilu to help adult
learners prepare emotionally and spiri-
tually for the upcoming Days of Awe,
will continue with the following
events, all open to the community at
no charge.
"Keyword Hebrew for the High
Holidays," an informal one-hour tuto-
rial with community educator Ahuva
Newman, will take place 7 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 13, at Borders Books-
Music-Cafe, 34300 Woodward
Avenue, Birmingham. The session is
designed for adult learners with pho-
netic Hebrew reading ability who
would like to expand and enhance
their High Holiday Hebrew vocabu-
lary. It will be repeated in a daytime
format 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17,
also hosted by the downtown
Birmingham Borders.
"Turning and Returning: Teshuvah
and the Quest for Spiritual Renewal,"
taught by Rabbi Aaron Bergman, will
continue 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14,
with a session titled "Rabbi Joseph
Soloveitchik's Insights on Teshuvah."
This series is hosted by Borders Books
and Music, 30995 Orchard Lake Road
in. Farmington Hills. New students are
welcome.
The recently-published anthology,
Beginning Anew: A Woman's
Companion for the High Holy Days,
will be reviewed by community educa-
tor Alicia Nelson at an informal study
and discussion hour 8 p.m. Monday,

will hold its election and installation
