n Thursday, Aug. 27, a day
after its doors officially
opened to students in
grades 1 through 8, Hillel
Day School of Metropolitan Detroit
welcomed its youngest members.
In the mix were children whose
eyes brimmed with tears, children
who clung to their parents and some
who bounced in with their new sup-
plies, happy to begin their first year in
a real school. ❑
