Finally, a way to learn Torah in the
comforts of your own den without
having to get cleaned up to wel-
come a rabbi into your house.
Jewish Torah Audio,
www.613.org , has more than 400
hours of audio and video
presentations that can
be listened to when
your sitting at your
computer, or down-
loaded and saved for
when there's more time.
Many of the classes
are taped speeches by rab-
bis and rebbetzins on holi-
days and spirituality. There
are guides to shabbat,
Passover and Purim that offer
explanations of customs and
prayers, as well as audio versions of
prayers.
One long chunk of time comes
from a three-hour video by Rabbi
Ephraim Buchwald on how to con-
duct a shabbat service for beginners.
The site also includes some of his
"Crash Course in Basic Judaism."
The number of links off the
main page is not out of the ordi-
nary, but the amount of informa-
tion under each link is. Make sure

The World Wide Web is an unparal-
leled tool for community building.
Case in point: the Jewish Feminist
Resources home page, a model for
how this new medium can unite peo-
ple in different parts of the world who
share specific interests.
The site, www.jew-feminist-
resources.com , is primarily a forum
for networking and communication. It
won't provide a comprehensive educa-
tion in the expanding literature of
Jewish feminism, but it will provide
visitors with a sense of what people are
saying and what resources are avail-
able.
The site opens with a number of
choices: ritual and liturgy, Torah
thoughts, sermons, message boards
and Web resources.
Visitors are encouraged to try their

hand at Torah commentary; other sec-
tions will eventually allow women to
share their own personalized rituals
with a distinctly feminist slant.
Message boards take up topics like
the Torah portion, Jewish women's
history and "Orthodox and feminist."
Through a linkup with
amazon.com , the huge Internet
bookstore, the site offers a modest
selection of books that should inter-
est Jewish feminists and that can be
ordered with a few mouse clicks.
There are also ample links to other
Web sites that will interest visitors to
this one.
The Jewish Feminist Resources
home page is a pleasure to look at —
cleanly designed, colorful without
being gaudy, easy to navigate. Its
folksy style belies the serious subjects
being discussed. It's a welcoming
place, appropriate for a site that was
designed to foster feelings of commu-
nity.
