Jewish Torah Audio, www.613.org , has more than 400 hours of audio and video presentations that can be listened to when your sitting at your computer, or down- loaded and saved for when there's more time. Many of the classes are taped speeches by rab- bis and rebbetzins on holi- days and spirituality. There are guides to shabbat, Passover and Purim that offer explanations of customs and prayers, as well as audio versions of prayers. One long chunk of time comes from a three-hour video by Rabbi Ephraim Buchwald on how to con- duct a shabbat service for beginners. The site also includes some of his "Crash Course in Basic Judaism." The number of links off the main page is not out of the ordi- nary, but the amount of informa- tion under each link is. Case in point: the Jewish Feminist Resources home page, a model for how this new medium can unite peo- ple in different parts of the world who share specific interests. The site, www.jew-feminist- resources.com , is primarily a forum for networking and communication. It won't provide a comprehensive educa- tion in the expanding literature of Jewish feminism, but it will provide visitors with a sense of what people are saying and what resources are avail- able. The site opens with a number of choices: ritual and liturgy, Torah thoughts, sermons, message boards and Web resources. There are also ample links to other Web sites that will interest visitors to this one. The Jewish Feminist Resources home page is a pleasure to look at — cleanly designed, colorful without being gaudy, easy to navigate. Its folksy style belies the serious subjects being discussed.
