She is the daughter of Libby and Dr. Barry August, sister of Jes- sica and grandchild of Hilda and Milton August and Ruth and Marvin Wain. Her hobbies N 7 1-include drawing, cre- ating stories to go with her illustra- tions, swimming, arts and crafts. Her most meaningful mitzvah project was distributing gifts at a homeless shelter and painting the children's faces. Stephanie is an honor student at Eton Academy and has won two awards for her art from the Birmingham Bloom- field Art Association. Eric Weiss Eric Michael Weiss will be called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on Satur- day, Aug. 29, at Temple Israel. He is the son of Andrea and Steven Weiss, brother of Jodi and Debra, and grand- \-Thchild of Selma and /-z Nathan Feldman and Freda Weiss. He is also the grandson of the late Joseph Weiss. Mitzvah projects included donating to the American Cancer Society, vol- unteering at Yad Ezra, and assisting the Temple Israel staff. An honor roll /-- student at Warner Middle School, Eric enjoys swimming, golf, tennis, skiing and rollerblading. Brandon Kroeger Brandon Andrew Kroeger will become a bar mitzvah at Temple Israel on Saturday, Aug. 29. He is the son of Susan Mar- shak-Kroeger and Timothy Kroeger, brother of Matthew and grandchild of Shirley and Mike Marshak. Proud great-grandmother is Pauline Pringle. Particularly meaningful was volun- teering at Yad Ezra as part of his mitzvah projects. Attending Orchard Lake Middle School, Brandon is interested in playing basketball, hockey and soccer and collecting sports cards. Jessica Palter Jessica Erin Palter will observe her bat mitzvah at Temple Israel on Fri- day, Aug. 28. She is the daughter of Peggy and Daniel Palter, sister of Kimberly and Ryan and grandchild of Barbara and Bernie Alter and Doris and Dick Palter. Proud great-grandmother is Shirley Hasnas. She is also the grandchild of the late Samuel Goss. A student at Abbott Middle School where she is in the stages program, Jessica's interests include musical theater, dance, music, computers and spectator sports.
