Metropolitan Detroit will hold its
72nd annual meeting 7:30 p.m.
Monday, Sept. 28, at Temple Israel.
Jane F. Sherman will receive the
Fred M. Butzel Memorial Award for
distinguished community service.
Nominated for the office of presi-
dent of Federation is Penny B.
Blumenstein. Nominated with her are

Farmington Hills home of Cathy and

Training Wheels
From Hadassah

Hadassah invites interested parents
and grandparents to attend an orienta-
tion meeting 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept.
1, at Hadassah House. The chapter
will offer a Jewish family "Training
Wheels" education program for chil-
dren ages 2-5.
Playgroups meet nine times per
year to cycle through the holiday cal-
endar. Through songs and fun-filled
activities adults and children learn
together to celebrate Shabbat and
Jewish holidays, from Rosh Hashanah
to Shavuot. Training Wheels gives
families the tools and skills to build
Jewish identity and experience the joys
of Jewish- living.
The fee of $25 for Hadassah mem-
bers includes Training Wheels materi-
als. A $50 fee for non-members also
includes Hadassah membership. The
program is led by a Hadassah trained
facilitator.
