Marble of Los Angeles' 15-
16-year-old baseball team guaranteed
a gold medal for his team.
The team -helped him back up his
words, defeating a 41ell-shocked
Toronto team 11-1 for the rop spot in
the tournament.
That was only the beginning of
L.A.'s domination in team sports.
L.A.'s 13-14 baseball team, softball
team, girls' soccer and boys' 15-16
soccer all won gold medals.
"A lot of our kids play year-round
together," said Jerry Bobrow, Los
Angeles' delegation head. "We have a
large area to choose from and more
kids come to try out."
Both the girls and 15-16 boys soc-
cer tournaments finished almost
according to the way they were seed-
ed.
The boys' 15-16 soccer final had
second seed L.A. edging No. 1
