How To Peel And
Seed Tomato

Fill a pot with fresh cold water
and bring it to a rolling boil (the
pot size is not important). Cut a
large "x" on the bottom (not the
stem side) of the tomato, being
careful not to cut into the flesh
very deeply.
With a large spoon or tongs,
carefully drop the tomato into the
boiling water and let cook for
about 1 minute. Carefully remove
the tomato from the water and
plunge into a bowl of cool water
to stop the cooking.
The skin should just peel off. If
you run into a problem spot where
the skin won't peel, use a paring
knife to remove the remaining
skin. To remove the seeds, simply
cut the tomato in half horizontally
and scoop out the seeds with a tea-
spoon or your fingers.
This peeling process is the same
for peaches and plums, too.
