United Jewish Foundation

of Metropolitan Detroit

Today, the partnership lives on...
from strength to strength.

The creation of a central organization established the foundations of one of the most

extraordinary Jewish communities in the world - a community whose efforts on behalf of the

disadvantaged at home and the oppressed overseas would be matched by no other.

From the Americanization of refugees to the education of children, from compassionate

care during the Depression to spirited support of the newborn State of Israel, our mission

evolved and matured, but never strayed from its original values. In marking the centennial of

our community, we reconfirm our commitment to the vibrancy of Jewish life in Detroit and

around the world.
