Newman-Ettlinger

Elysa Katherine Ettlinger and Charles
David Newman announce their
engagement.
Elysa is the daughter of Jamie and
Irwin Rabinowitz of West Bloomfield
and Tom and Sondra Ettlinger of
Sarasota, Calif. Chuck is the son of
Linda and Harvey Newman of New
York, N.Y.
Elysa earned a bachelor of arts
degree in political science at the Uni-

versity of Wisconsin-Madison in 1991
and a master's degree in social work at
Columbia University in 1995. She is a
social worker with the Legal Aid Soci-
ety in Manhattan. Chuck earned a
bachelor of science degree in business
administration at Washington Univer-
sity in St. Louis, Mo., in 1986 and is
the president of a computer sales.corn-
pany based in New Jersey.
An October wedding is planned.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard S. Hurst of
West Bloomfield proudly announce
the engagement of their daughter
Melissa Kelly to Derek Mathew
Malerman, son of David and Deborah
Sullivan of Eastpointe and Stephen
and Janet Malerman of West Bloom-
field.

Melissa earned a law degree from
Detroit College of Law at Michigan
State University in May. Derek earned
a bachelor of science degree from
Eastern Michigan University last year.
A September wedding is planned at
the Links of Pinewood in Walled
Lake.
