SWISS FUND FOR NEEDY VICTIMS
OF THE HOLOCAUST/SHOA

The Swiss Fund for Needy Victims of the HolocaustIShoa was established by decree of the
Federal Council of Switzerland as a humanitarian gesture to aid needy victims of the
Holocaust worldwide. This is a humanitarian fund, not reparations or restitution of
assets deposited in Switzerland which must be claimed under separate procedures.

Any individual who meets all of the following
criteria may apply for a one-time grant from the
Swiss Fund for Needy Victims of the Holocaust/Shoa
through the system established by the World
Jewish Restitution Organization:

• Is a Jew who has lived in a country at the
time when it was under the Nazi regime,
under Nazi occupation, or under the
regime of Nazi collaborators

• Is currently a citizen, permanent resident,
or other legal resident of the United States

• Is in need: applicants should declare them-
selves to be in need on the application form

The modest amount to be paid to each person
will depend on the total number of applications
approved.

Any eligible individual in the United States
wishing to apply must submit an application so that
it is received by the Application Processing Center
prior to November 30, 1998. Applications must be
requested from the Application Processing Center
by November 17, 1998.

Additional information about the Fund, the application
process and the roles of the World Jewish Restitution
Organization and the New York State Banking
Department are included in the application package.
