learning and scholarship is the cornerstone of Jewish heritage. Recent studies, including the Council of Jewish Federations
National Jewish Population Study, show that Jewish education is vital to our children's identity and fundamental to our future
as a people. In today's fast-paced and hectic world, however, parents grapple with how to ensure their children get a solid

To address this challenge, a dedicated group of local parents is creating the Jewish Academy of Metropolitan Detroit.
The Academy will provide all qualified students with a top-caliber college-preparatory education in a pluralistic and diverse
Jewish setting. The Academy's general studies curriculum is a rigorous academic program with advanced placement and

electives such as music, drama, art, and athletics. The Judaic curriculum will — together with presenting Hebrew, Jewish texts
and Jewish history — encourage active Judaism and nourish a rich Jewish life among students and their families.
The Academy is both part of a national resurgence in Jewish education and a response to a need unique to our area. The time
is now to establish a Jewish high school for our children, and our children's children, and so on to the end of generations.
