Eilu Eilu, the adult Jewish learning
project, has announced plans for its
second annual pre-High Holiday study
series, "Elul: A Time to Prepare," which
will offer special study sessions on
themes of the season during the four
weeks leading up to the Jewish New
Year. The Elul series is open to all inter-
ested adult learners at no charge.
The first event will be held 7 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 23, at Borders Book and
Music, 30995 Orchard Lake Road,
Farmington Hills. Community educa-
tor Ruth Bergman will discuss,
"Hannah and Sarah: God, Fertility,
and Rosh Hashanah." No reservations
are required.
Another Elul offering, also hosted
by Borders in Farmington Hills, will
be a four-part Monday morning study
series with Rabbi Aaron Bergman
titled "Turning and Returning:
Teshuvah and the Quest for Spiritual
Renewal." Sessions will meet from 10
to 11 a.m. on Aug. 24, Sept. 1, Sept.
14, and Sept. 28. There wilLbe no
class on Sept. 7 (Labor Day) or Sept.
21 (first day of Rosh Hashanah). Each
session is self-contained and can be
attended independently. No reserva-
tions are required.

ChaZaKaH
Luncheon Set
The August meeting of ChaZaKaH,
the Adat Shalom senior group, will
feature a return performance by two
musicians. The event, set for 12:30
p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, will begin
with a luncheon.
Following lunch, Galina Feldman
and Adel Kozadayev will entertain with
vocal and piano renditions of classical _
ad folk, Hebrew, Yiddish, Russian,
European and popular melodies.
The ChaZaKaH luncheon is open
to all community seniors._There is a
$5 charge for members and a $6 non-
