Are Varied

Temple Group
Hears Dietician

The Jimmy Prentis Morris
Community Center will host the third
in a series of discussions with Rabbi
Joshua Bennett, who will share stories
and present slides from this summer's
Teen Mission to Israel, along with
examining "Our Next Generation
Through the Eyes of Our Teenagers,"
1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17. There is no
charge.
"A Summer Gala," sponsored by
Jerome Glassman, will be held 1 p.m.
Thursday, Aug. 20. The Sam Barnett
Orchestra will provide music.
Refreshments will be served. This pro-
gram is free of charge. Tickets will be
issued at the JPM front desk.
Dorothy Mills; chairwoman of the
"Dolls for Democracy Program," will
present seven dolls who depict famous -
people of different races and religious
denominations. This program will be
held free of charge 1 p.m. Monday,
Aug. 24.
The video "Father's Little
Dividend" will be shown 1 p.m.
Thursday, Aug. 27. The movie is free
of charge.
Cafe Europa Detroit, a program for
Holocaust survivors, families and
friends, will feature Sander Slomovitz
from the group, "Gemini" 1:30 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 30. Donations will be
accepted.
Torah classes are taught from 10-11
a.m. every Wednesday by Shoshana
Ben-Ozer. There is no charge.
Join Rabbi Ernst Conrad for a
Shabbat lecture and discussion every
Friday morning at 10 a.m. There is no
charge.

Temple Israel's Singles Extension
Group will host Jewish singles 50 and
over to hear Joyce Timm, registered
dietician with the Health
Development Network of Botsford
Hospital 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug.
20, at Temple Israel.
She will speak on "Food For
Thought, Food For Life And Food
For Energy" A question and answer
period will follow. Refreshments will
be served.

Congregation Shaarey Zedek will offer
a free bereavement support group
starting 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at
the B'nai Israel Center. This will be
the start of an eight-week session.
The group will be sponsored by the
Clover Hill Park Cemetery Board of
Trustees with the support of the Life
Cycle Committee, chaired by Faye
Ullmann. The facilitator will be Elaine
Krohn Medwed, psychologist.

Yiddish Films
Monthly Series

A Yiddish film series will be held at
the Fleischman Residence/Blumberg
Plaza 7 p.m. monthly. Dr. Charles
Silow, president of CHAIM
(Children of the Holocaust Survivors
in Michigan) will present these
movies preceded by a brief lecture.
All films have English subtitles. The
Yiddish film series is sponsored by
DMC Sinai Hospital Program for
Holocaust Survivors, Families and
Friends, the Jewish Home and Aging
Services and the Jewish Community
Center.

16; The Cantor's Son, Sunday, Sept.

20th Century artist Marc Chagall and
his contemporaries at a Latte and
