HARRY ROTT, 94, former Detroiter of Miami Beach, Fla., died Aug. 7. Mr. Rott was a successful businessman. In dedication to his father David, he built a synagogue, Congregation Dovid Ben Nuchim in Detroit. Mr. Rott was a founder of the Jewish Home for Aged and a founder of Mount Sinai Medical Center. His other philanthropies includ- ed, among others, Miami Heart Insti- tute, Migdal Ohor, Cancer Lifeline, Deed Club of the Notables, Jackson Memorial Hospital and the Jewish Museum. He was a member of the Soci- ety of Mount Sinai Medical Center, the board of directors at Temple Emanu-El, and a contributor to Lehrman Day School. He brought many people to the United States to give them the opportu- nity for a better life in America. Mr. Rott is survived by his wife, Ruth Ron; son and daughter-in-law, Neil and Gloria Rott of LaCosta, Calif.; grand- children, Lee, Boddy and Rhonda Shapiro, Lisa, Mark, Michael and Mari- lynn Ron; great-grandchildren, Seth, David, Scott and Matthew; sister, Mollie Greenwald of Los Angeles; brother-in- law, Rabbi Irving Lehrman; stepson, Steven Citron and step-grandchildren, Samantha and Jessica Citron.
