Drake will extend its hours for the
games ... Sundays, 10-4; Monday-
Thursday, 10-5; Friday, 10-2 ... No
dinner Tuesday night, Aug. 18.
THE DEAL has fallen through for
a Mike Larco Italian restaurant ... And
so the Envoy Cafe it was to have taken
over will reopen again Tuesday, Aug.
18, in Simsbury Plaza, 14 Mile and
Farmington Road ... Dinners only will__
be served.
--SHE'S ONE OF the funniest gals
to come out of Detroit ... and is also
quite a cook.
Norma Zager's one-woman show of
cooking and comedy opened last Tues-
day at the Fiesta Casino in northwest
Las Vegas .;. on Rancho and Lake
Mead Boulevard ... 10 minutes from
the Strip.
"What's so funny about cooking
and comedy?" I asked Norma over the
phone ... "You haven't tasted my cook-
ing," she joked.
And a joke it sure was, because
Norma's ability to blend ingredients is
very good.
Her cookbook, A Pinch of Laughter,
coming out soon, will be sold at
Norma's shows ... It is a combination
of comedy and cooking ... with all ,
low-fat and fat-free recipes ... She is
living proof of her fat-conscious
recipes ... feeling so much better
minus 100 pounds.
Norma still appears regularly with
her comedy at various hotels in Las
Vegas (Riviera, MGM-Grand, Tropi-
cana, Four Queens, Maxim, etc.) and
is on Los Angeles television quite a bit
with her cooking and funny patter.
She even has her own bakery now
in Los Angeles, where Norma makes
those delicious "Norma's 14-Karat
Cookies."
Her shows at Fiesta Casino are
every Tuesday afternoon, 1 p.m. and 3
p.m.
She is a 1964 graduate of Mumford
High and has been living in Los Ange-
les the past four years.
When you're in Las Vegas ... -For-
mer Detroiters now living there, too
... go see Norma ... and be sure to say
hello ... She'd be thrilled to talk about .
the Detroit she has always loved so
much.
FOLLOWING IN THE footsteps
of its successful restaurant on Orchard
Lake Road in West Bloomfield,
Unique Restaurant Corporation will
open a second Flying Fish Tavern.
Its Tavern on 13, off Southfield
Road on 13 Mile, is being converted
into Flying Fish Tavern number two
