Korean restaurant ... And a good one,
too.
Korean food, which is somewhat of
a mystery, has some pleasant surprises
for people with a sense of adventure ...
Try it once and you may find yourself

THEIR FATHERS were partners a
number of years ago in a food-related
business called Sneaky Treats.
Now the sons have taken over, soon
to open another venture that is gain-
ing wildfire momentum.
It'll be called Zoup!, in the Franklin
Plaza Shopping Centeron Northwest-
ern and 12 Mile, and owned by Eric
Ersher, Ed's son; and David Elias, son
of the late Hanley Elias.
There'll be over 200 soups at
Michigan's first all-soup restaurant ...
12 a day with one-of-a-kind creations
not found elsewhere.
Soup and bread will be the only
things sold ... both dining in with
seating for 39 ... or carry-out in espe-
cially designed custom containers ...
Each order will be accompanied by a
large piece of bread.
The soups, chock full of meat, veg-
etables, etc., will be low-far, fat-free,
dairy-free and spicy ... from the world
over.
Zoup! is expected to open the first
part of September ... And dies any-
thing like in New York, they'll be lin-
ing up out the door.

middle-aisle session, Nov. 15, at Tern-
ple Israel.
MACCABI GAMES, here Aug.
16-23, brings many efforts by corn-
munity restaurants, from kosher to
Middle Eastern to the Greek and vege-
tarian favorites served at Big Daddy's
Parthenon in West Bloomfield.
About 5,000 participants, coaches
and families from the United States
and four foreign countries are expect-
ed to converge on the northwest for
the Jewish teen olympics.
A few added tables are being set up
by Unique Kosher
Catering and Carry-Out on Green-
field, between Nine and 10 Mile, for
people to sit down and eat during the
games ... Rita Jerome's variety of foods
will be available for folks to order and
take to their tables .. along with the
counters and chairs already set up.
