1 cup chilled club soda

In a large glass combine the lemon
juice and sugar and stir until sugar is
dissolved. Add soda or water and stir.
Put ice cubes in a tall glass and pour
lemonade over them. Serves 1. This
can be doubled or tripled.
Variations on a theme:
Substitute 1 1/2 ounces cassis
syrup, raspberry syrup or cherry syrup
for the sugar. Or use half grape juice
and half soda instead of all soda. Or
use chilled apple juice in place of club
soda. Limeade: Substitute lime juice
for lemon juice.

MANGOADE
2 cups ripe mango coarsely chopped
1/4 cup sugar, or to taste
2 cups orange juice
1/4 cup lime or lemon juice
2 cups cold water
1 teaspoon grated orange rind

Combine all the ingredients except
orange rind in a blender and blend on
high speed for about 30 seconds.
Strain and pour into a pitcher. Sprin-
kle the orange rind over each glass
after it is filled and serve in 8-ounce
tumblers or goblets with 2 or 3 ice
cubes in each. Serves 6 to 8.

FROZEN FRUIT SLUSH
1 1/2 cups ice cubes
1 ripe banana, sliced
5 strawberries, hulled
1/2 cup orange juice
1 cup pineapple chunks, drained

Mix all the ingredients in a blender
and process until thick and smooth.
Serve immediately. Serves 2. This
recipe can be doubled or tripled

ORANGE JULIUS
6 oz frozen orange juice -
concentrate, thawed
1/4 cup sugar, or to taste
1 cup water
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

Put all the ingredients in blender and
then fill the container to top with ice.
Blend until ice is finely chopped.
Serve in chilled glasses. Serves 4.
