Friday, Aug. 21

5100, will host an outdoor Kabbalat
Shabbat service at 8 p.m. that is open
to the community. Maccabi partici-
pants will be welcomed.
Congregation Shir Tikvah, (248)
649-4418, will have a dinner for the
athletes and their host families at 6:30
p.m. A Shabbat service follows at 7:45
P.m.
Temple Kol Ami, (248) 661-0040,
is hosting a family Shabbat dinner for
athletes and their host families at 6
p.m., followed by a Shabbat service at
7:30 p.m.
The Birmingham Temple, (248)
477-1410 will have a special Shabbat
celebration with the theme of "The
New Jew: Athletic, Confident, Coura-
geous," which will be led by Rabbinic
Intern Adam Chalom.
Temple Beth El, (248) 851-1100,
schedules a Shabbat dinner at 6:15
p.m. followed by services at 8 p.m.
which will pay special honor to Mac-
cabi athletes.
Beth Abraham Hillel Moses, (248)
851-6880, will host a special Kabbalat
Shabbat service honoring Maccabi ath-
letes at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at
6:45 p.m.
Temple Emanu-El, (248) 967-4020,
will have Shabbat services outdoors in
the Birnkrant Garden at 7:30 p.m. and
will honor the Maccabi athletes.
Temple Israel, (248) 661-5700, will
host a special picnic dinner for athletes
and host families at 6 p.m. Weather
permitting, outdoor services will follow
at 7:30 p.m.
Temple Shir Shalom, (248) 737-
8700, will have its annual Service
Under the Stars and acknowledge Mac-
cabi athletes at 8 p.m.
