I am a member of the Oakland County-
based Social Legislation Group that is
very concerned about the treatment of
patients in the U.S. health care system.
We support the Democratic Patient
Protection Bill of Rights introduced by
Sen. Tom Daschle and U.S. Rep. John
Dingell. Their companion bills are S.
1890 and H.R. 3605. These bills will
provide long overdue protection to
Americans that they need and deserve.
We are writing to urge your sup-
port. We anticipate a speedy response.
Please call or write your senators
and representatives or call my office
for addresses and phone numbers:

Story Brings
Back Memories
Thanks for Jill Sklar's article on the
Great Lakes Yacht Club ("Smooth Sail-
ing" July 17). It brought back many
memories. When I first dated my hus-
band in 1955, we would sail there
every weekend. Later, we continued
sailing with our young children.
It was good to be reminded of the
fun times we had there.
