Thunderbirds In The Sky

The United States Air Force Thunderbirds headline the Selfridge Air Show
'98, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Air Force Reserve. The fun
includes flight simulators, military band music, hot air balloons, model rockets,
and souvenir and food vendors, with flying demonstrations beginning at 1 p.m.
Admission is free. Selfridge Air National Guard Base. Call for information and

Happy Birthday, Detroit!

Detroit celebrates its 297th birthday complete with a party and cake and a
wide variety of live entertainment. Held on the grounds of the Detroit Historical
Museum and the Detroit Public Library, the annual family event includes the
sale of wares by local crafters, a special naturalization ceremony and a drawing
for a rare Beanie Baby. There is no admission charge. On Woodward Ave.,

Celebrating 20 years of concerts, the Women of the Calabash perform the
