Catching up with Art Garfunkel.

elebrating his 25th year as a
solo artist, Art Garfunkel is
on the road again on a tour
that will bring him to
Meadow Brook Music Festival on
Thursday, July 23.
Garfunkel, the former singing part-
ner of Paul Simon, kicked off the
extensive tour July 16 in Brooklyn.
The tour wraps up in Wilmington,
Del., on December 6.
During their glory days, the duo
of Simon and Garfunkel were right
up there with Lennon and
McCartney,—said Daniel Jeffreys,
New York correspondent for the
London Daily Mail.
Speaking about those halcyon days,
Garfunkel told Jeffreys last month, "I
couldn't really agree that I was the star.
Simon and Garfunkel were a team. I
always knew that. I'm not so sure Pau
did."
Simon and Garfunkel have not per-
formed together since 1993, and
Garfunkel said they will probably
never do so again. However, unlike
