vital for the children to see that

role models, admit when they
have done wrong and express
regret.
I also want them to know that

I does not mean they can be spo-
ken to thoughtlessly, then have the
whole matter dismissed. We apol-
. ogize when we dial a wrong
number, when we bump into
1 someone in a supermarket, when
we accidentally step ahead of
another while waiting in line. If
we extend such courtesy to
strangers, how much more impor-
tant to do so, and do so regular-
