Eliu v' Eliu, the metro-wide adult
Jewish learning project will offer
conversational Hebrew classes for
adults this summer, taught by Ahuva
Newman.
A beginner conversational Hebrew
series is in progress on Monday
nights through Aug. 3. New students
are welcome to join the group and I
prorate tuition. Basic familiarity with
the alef-bet is a prerequisite. The
class meets from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
in a private home in Southfield.
Tuition for each two-hour session is
$15 for Eilu v' Eilu members and
$18 for others.
In addition, an intensive interme-
diate conversational Hebrew seminar
will be offered on Thursday nights
from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., if there is
sufficient enrollment. Tuition for the
seminar series is $20 per session for
Eilu v' Eilu members; $25 for others.

Robert Feldman was elected 1998-99
Commander of the Michigan Jewish
War Veterans at their recent annual
convention.
" The other officers for the year are
Herman Sherline, senior vice com-
mander; Sandy Pliskow, junior vice
commander; Harmon Tron, quarter-
master; and Jerry Order, adjutant.
Jack Schwartz will take over as
chief of staff and Iry Marshall
received dual honors by becoming
national executive committeeman
and receiving the Norman Berkley
Award as outstanding Jewish Veteran
of the year in Michigan.
