emeritus of North
Shore Synagogue,
Syosset, Long
Island, N.Y.
Rabbi Fogel is a
graduate of the
University of
Michigan and was
ordained at

College. He is the Rabbi Fogel
son of the late
Sam and Lillian Fogel of Wyandotte.

Scroll Of Honor
Coming Next Week
A scroll of honor listing every contrib-
utor to the 1998 Allied Jewish
Campaign will appear as an insert in
The Jewish News July 24.
The scroll, prepared by the Jewish
Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, is
in tribute to the community's 50 years
of partnership with the State of Israel.
It includes photographs from the
Jewish Community Archives which
depict notable events and personalities
over the 50-year period. Besides nearly
15,000 adult contributors to the
Campaign, the scroll also lists the
names of more than 500 children
whose family and friends honored
them with a Chanukah contribution
to the Campaign in the Simply
Tzedakah program.

Teva Hosts
Outdoor Event
"Sunday in the Park with Teva" is the
theme of an outdoor adventure to take
place 12:30-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, at
Marshbank Park, West Bloomfield.
Sponsored by Teva: The Jewish
Environmental Connection, the after-
noon will include kite flying, a nature
scavenger hunt and hiking.
Teva is a program of the Jewish
Federation's Community Outreach
and Education Department devoted to
promoting the connection between
Jewish life and the environment and
creating social action projects related
to the environment. The group also
holds outings with opportunities for
Jewish learning.
The social/educational event is free
of charge, but reservations are requirecii
by Aug. 3. Participants should bring a
dairy lunch, pop and chips will be
supplied.
