Local Winners
At Senior Olympics

Five local seniors won seven gold
medals and one silver at the Michigan
Senior Olympics in Frankenmuth this
month.
Julius Spielberg of West Bloom-
field competed in the 90-94-year-
old division and took golds in the
5,000 and 1;500 meter race-walk,
the same events that Abe Ulinoff of
Southfield won in the 80-85-year-
old group.
Southfield's Joel Kashdan won a
gold in the 5,000 meter run for 50-
54 year olds. Jerry Jerome of Birm-
ingham won gold medals in the
5,000 and 1,500 run. Hy Shenkman
of Waterford won a silver medal in
the 1,500 meter run.
