Americans On Israel

The television special "Israel at 50: An American Perspective," moderated by
Rabbi James Rudin of the American Jewish Committee, presents clerical and lay
scholars at the Harvard Divinity School in an interfaith roundtable discussion
on the effect of Israel as a nation on Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Airs on
CBS, Channel 62. Check your local listings.

Yiddish Puppets, Jewish Crafts

Bring the family and join the fun of "A Sefer Safari Extravanganza." The Pup-
petArt Company will present "Close the Window," a Yiddish folktale by Isaac

Music And Munchies

The Jeff Haas Trio, with special guests Marcus Belgrave and Marvin Kahn,
performs a unique mixture of classical, jazz and Hebrew folk music in the open-
ing concert of Temple Israel's summer music festival. Bring a picnic dinner and
lawn chairs or blankets as outdoor seating is limited. In case of inclement weath-
er, the concert will be moved from the Wasserman Pavilion indoors. 5725 Wal-

Syme Under The Stars

The Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit's Neighborhood Project wel-
comes pianist David Syme to the Oak Park summer concert series at Rothstein
Park, behind the Jimmy Prentis Morris Jewish Community Center. Syme and
his trio will perform popular tunes and Israeli music in celebration of Israel's
50th anniversary. Refreshments will be available for purchase. In case of rain, the
