chairperson for
1998-99. Mrs.
Stern is a past
vice-chairperson
of the BBYO
board.
Elected to
serve with Mrs.
Stern as vice-
chairpersons are

Huntington
Woods, Ilene Lubin of Sylvan Lake,
Pam Salba of Farmington Hills and
Holli Targan of West Bloomfield.
Elected as board secretary is Barbara
Newman Zack of Farmington Hills.
Executive committee members
include David Bittker, Bruce Gorosh,
Ruth Grey, and Steve Schanes. Dele-
gates-at-large elected to serve until 1999

Chelm Humor
Is Studied

"The Wise Men of Chelm: Eastern
European Jewish Folk Humor" will
be the subject of Rabbi Aaron
Bergman's Latte & Learning session
10-11 a.m. Monday, June 29, at Bor-
ders Books & Music, 30995 Orchard
Lake Road in Farmington Hills. The
session is part of an eight-week study
series tracing the history of Jewish
humor and sponsored by Eilu v'
Eilu.
Tuition is $7 per session ($5 for
members of the sponsoring organiza-
dons). No reservations are necessary.
Each session is self-contained and
can be attended independently of the
others. The series runs through Aug.
3 (no class July 20).

At the recent annual meeting of the Michigan BBYO Board of Directors, David
Levine of West Bloomfield was honored with the Charles and Florence Milan
BBYO Board Mitzvah Award for community work on behalf of BBYO above
and beyond the ordinary. Levine serves as chairperson of the BBYO Board
