names when they were ordained as
Conservative rabbis by the Jewish
Theological Seminary. She also
received a master of arts degree.

Jewish Power

will present the last Education
Exchange 7 p.m. Monday, June 29,
at Barnes & Noble Booksellers.
Rabbi Sherwin Wine from
Birmingham Temple will present,
"Jews in America: The Struggle for
Power and Recognition."
It is open to the community and
free of charge .

Eilu
Eilu, the adult Jewish learn-
ing project, will offer six-week begin-
ner and intermediate conversational
Hebrew classes for adults this sum-
mer. All are welcome. Classes will be
offered 7:30-9:30 p.m. on Monday
nights beginning June 29 and
Thursday nights beginning July 2, in
a private home in Southfield.
Community educator Ahuva
Newman will be the instructor.
Tuition for each six-week series is
$108. There is a lower tuition fee of
$90 for Eilu Eilu members. All
prospective students are encouraged
to attend the first class of the series
in which they are considering
enrolling. If not enough students
register at the first session, there will
be no charge for that session. If a
class goes forward but an individual
student elects not to enroll after the
first session, he or she will not be
charged for that session.
In the event of insufficient enroll-
ment for agiven class, a seminar-
style format might be offered as an
option, for a higher tuition fee. For
